And what about the girls whose mothers and grandmothers taught them the role of a woman

What about the ones who taught their daughters how to cook, how to clean, how to support, submit, cater to and  multiply

But they forgot, they forgot to tell us who to be this woman to

Because most of them were never taught, they were never taught who to be that woman to.

So generation after generation we learn by default

Only after we have been broken, stripped and emptied of the innocence of the woman we were taught to be

Because we were that woman to the wrong person.

You see it’s of a man’s nature to desire these things from a woman

So can we blame them for not stopping us from being her even when they are not deserving of it.

So we try to be patient, we hold on for as long as we can

In hopes that they see us as their one, in hopes that they treat us the way we deserve to be treated

And before we know it our cups become empty

You start losing yourself, then you begin to question yourself, your worth

And before you know it you are walking with your head down, confidence stripped away and finally you walk away.

But now you feel lost and you have to dig so deep within to rediscover who you are because you remember who you were before you were her to the wrong person.

Fear and anxiety begin to taunt you as you ask yourself how will I know

How will I know who to trust, who to let in, who is the right person.

There are good days and there are bad days but in time you will become her again

And when you do remember that you will never have to lose her with the right person.
